Revlon Colourburst Lip Butter Tutti Frutti

Sheer lipsticks have become a big trend this year and I for one am a big fan!

I have heard about the Revlon Colourburst Lip Butters for quite a while but only recently got round to purchasing one. Being a huge coral lover I decided on the colour Tutti Frutti.

The lipstick is described as a buttery balm consistency with beautiful shiny colour to give you baby soft, healthy glowing lips.

I have only tried one sheer lipstick before, and that was when I nabbed some of my mums Chanel Rouge Coco Shine in Just Chance which I have to say is so so beautiful, but unfortunately a hefty price tag comes with it!

From trying out the Revlon Colourburst Lip Butter, I was pleasantly surprised. I really loved the orange/coral colour. It is great for summer and can be applied either sheerly for a hint of colour or layered for a stronger look. It was very moisturising  and pretty much worked as both a lipstick and lipgloss which was handy. In terms of staying power it lasted about 2-3 hours.

This lipstick retails £7.99 and is available in 14 shades in the UK.

Overall I really liked it. I'm not sure if I would bother buying it again or if I would rather try another sheer lipstick from a different range (I have my eye on L'Oreal Caresse Rouge in Cheeky Magnenta!)

Have you tried any sheer lipsticks this year? What are your thoughts on them?

Ombre Nails

At the moment I am LOVING ombre hair and nails! It gets me very excited for summer and has a very sunny/coachella/hippy feel to it.

If anyone saw Lauren Conrads dip dyed pink hair recently thats the kind of look I am currently in love with.

Recently I came across a tutorial for ombre nails and I had to try it out. I am a complete nail newbie, and also a terrible clutz, yet the tutorial was unbelievably easy and took me about 5 minutes to master! I went for a pinky/purple look.

Firstly I got all my items together, for my look I used Barry M Bright Pink 279, Ciate Nail Polish 0711, a clear nail polish for my top coat (one that i've had for yonks), and finally a make up sponge.

I painted all my nails in one coat of Barry M Bright Pink. Once this had dried I applied a line of Ciate Nail Polish 0711 to the tip of the make up sponge and dabbed it onto paper to remove the excess. Then I dabbed the sponge onto the tip of my nails to create a tie dye effect. Once this had dried I applied a top coat of clear nail polish to blend the colours.

This was the finished look. I am really pleased with them and it was so easy to do! I hope you enjoy and find this useful :).

Summer Skin (Dermalogica Treatment Foundation)

Summer is rolling around and every girl wants to achieve the appearance of a bronzed glowing goddess (wishful thinking in this poop weather). I find that in summer I prefer to wear a much lighter foundation that what I would wear in winter. In winter I want to hibernate and protect my poor cold weather abused face. In summer I prefer to use a tinted moisturiser where I can let my skin breathe.

A great foundation I have found for summer is the Dermalogica Treatment Foundation.

This foundation is amazing for those with oily/break out prone skin. It is a lightweight, oil-free, water based liquid make-up that is non-comedogenic and formulated without artificial colours or fragrances.

It offers a great level of coverage, whilst moisturising and protecting the skin.

Personally I love it. Rather than clogging your skin with a foundation, this is more of a treat for your skin and  is basically skincare disguised as make up. It can be used either to provide a flawless coverage, or as a sheer tinted moisturiser. I use it when my skin is playing up to get it back to normal, and also in summer when I want to protect and moisturise my skin due to the sun.

Whenever I have used this foundation in the past I have gotten great compliments that my skin is glowing and looking very healthy, so I would definitely recommend it.

Recently I found out on Twitter that Louise Thompson from Made in Chelsea is also a fan of this product, who always looks beaut!

Some downfalls of the product are that it is not very long lasting, it rubs off easily and if you get it wet it is a gonner!

It is quite a pricey foundation, I usually get it off of www.beautyflash.co.uk for 24.99. Its a good site as its 5.00 cheaper than the RRP and they also give you free samples of Dermalogica with your purchase- good times!

I usually get the colour 1G. I hope you guys find this post useful!

Are there any summer foundations you would recommend?

Mollie King- The Sats

mollie king out and about in london

I recently saw this gorgeous outfit on Mollie King from the Saturdays and fell in love! I have wanted to purchase a stripey shirt for work for a long time and I think this shows how good they can look. It is the perfect outfit for summer and would be great either to go to work in or to look sophisticated for evening drinks.

Recently I popped into Zara and found a very similar shirt for only 22.99...

It fits really well and it is a beautiful blue (a lighter colour than the one seen on Mollie). Now all I need is the matching blazer and shorts!

Real Techniques Stipling Brush

I have been a fan of the pixiwoo sisters for a really long time, so when I found out Samantha Chapman had created brushes that were going to be sold in boots I was very excited!

At the weekend I decided to buy  the Stipling Brush, and I am really pleased I did. Usually I use a wet sponge to apply makeup, but with this brush I get such an even finish, I wish I had bought it ages ago! I really would highly recommend it as it is great for really working in a foundation.

You can find them in Boots for 10.95

Fake Lashes

I don't wear fake eyelashes that often. Luckily I naturally have quite long eyelashes.. but on a night out when I really want to glam up I will sometimes stick some on!

My favourites to wear are the Eylure Naturalites Intense 140 False Eyelashes. Here are some pictures from a recent night out of me wearing them...

I like these lashes because they are really easy to put on and comfortable to wear. I find them a little too long so I cut them and bend them to fit my eye shape. They are long lasting and I have never had any experiences of them falling off or only ending up with one after a heavy night! (touch wood)

I have also tried the girls aloud collection by Eyelure and would really recommend the Nicola ones as they are quite natural looking.

Next on my list to try is the Katy Perry collection (im very excited about this as she always has lush lashes!).

I also want to try out some MAC ones.. I hear on the grape vine number 4 is meant to be really nice for a natural look.

Do you wear lashes? If so what ones would you recommend?

London Fashion Week

London Fashion Week has officially started! I was lucky enough this year to be able to attend one of the shows. The company I am interning with got me tickets to see Spijkers en Spijkers A/W show and it was all very exciting as i've never been before!

Here are some of the photos I managed to take...

I was in the second row so I had quite a good view and it was a very surreal experience! I really enjoyed it and I would definitely recommend going.

This show in particular was based on 'Birds of Paradise' and used a lot of bright colours to enhance autumn and winter colours such as mulberry. The models wore alice bands with neon earrings and bright bold blue eyeshadow for a pop of colour. Their hairstyles were very 1920's and immaculate.

I also noticed a lot of dip-dye hairstyles in people that attended the shows which I thought looked really nice and is clearly going to be a trend this year.

I hope you find this post interesting!

MAC Lipsticks- Angel, Pink Nouveau, Lady Danger

Hey lovelies! I hope you are all well! I thought I would show you an insight into my MAC lipstick collection. I am really interested in seeing the colours that other people own and am a huge fan of lipsticks so I hope you enjoy having a nosey at mine :).

Pink Nouveau

Lady Danger

Angel

Pink Nouveau, Lady Danger, Angel

Angel, Pink Nouveau, Lady Danger

MAC lipsticks are a really well-known brand which is very reliable for getting good results. In my collection I have three lipsticks and I have been really pleased with the results of all of them! I have a nude soft pink- Angel, a bright pink- Pink Nouveau (post done on this earlier) and lastly I have a vivid bright coral red- Lady Danger. I enjoy mixing them for both day and night time looks and I think they are great staples for beginners to start out with. The colour is always really long-lasting and you can apply as much as you want for either a bold statement or just a hint of colour. The only thing I would suggest is to always apply a lip balm first as they can be a bit drying and do show up flakes on the lips.

What lipstick colours would you recommend? I'm really interested in going for some darker colours like Dubonnet and Prince Noir!

Hope you enjoy and have a great weekend.

Valentines Dress

Valentines day is creeping up slowly, and I have found a dress that I think would be perfect for the occasion and at a bargain price! It is a dress that is definitely on my wishlist as I have been looking for a tartan dress for a really long time. If anyone is a fan of Rihanna or Lucy from the Only Way Is Essex you may have spotted something similar. In fact Lucy Mecklenburgh wore this dress in TOWIE. I think the red colour and cute design makes it perfect for romance, love and valentines day!

It can be found at Ruby Rooms for the bargain price of  £20

Or from Lucy Mecklenburgh's website for  £30

Favourite Fragrance

At the moment I am really loving a certain perfume! Its called 'Naughty Alice' and its by Vivienne Westwood.

Its a cheeky girly floral scent that is also quite musky and sexy. I received it as a present at christmas time and I have not stopped wearing it since! It is a great perfume for both day and night because of the contrasting girly floral for day time and the musky sexy/naughty for night time. The aroma includes black rose, carnal violet, and ylang ylang. The scent is really long lasting and I have had great compliments whenever I have worn it!

The bottle is absolutely gorgeous and it has a really cute little blue heart on it so it's great to display on a dressing table.

Overall I would really recommend this perfume.. definitely give it a sniff when you next pass the beauty counters!

What scents are you loving at the moment?

Cold weather and Dry Skin solution- Elizabeth Arden 8 Hour Cream

The weather lately in the UK has been absolutely freezing!! As a result I have suffered from horrible chapped lips and dry skin. A great solution for this that I would I recommend is Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Skin Protectant Cream. It is a skincare classic that is described as a multi tasking cream that soothes, restores, calms and helps relieve chapped, cracked, dry skin and smoothes roughness, redness and minor skin irritations.

It does exactly what it says on the tin! I first discovered it when I was coming back from holiday and was horribly sunburnt! The aircon on the plane was killing me and I was literally a tomato. I decided I drastically needed something to moisturise my skin to try and prevent peeling and drying. I had heard a lot of good reviews about this product and one of my friends swore by it so I hastily bought it and slathered it all over my face! Since then it has been a staple product of mine and it is a great moisturiser.

It is a really thick product which has quite a sticky consistency, and a small amount goes a long way. It really is multi tasking the range of things it can be used for is incredible. For example as a lipbalm, on dry/irritated skin, face mask to give some needed moisturiser, to help eyebrows stay in one place, to give a healthy sheen, to moisturise cuticles.. the list goes on!

I would definitely recommend trying this stuff out.. especially in this cold weather.

Maybelline Eyestudio Lasting Drama Gel Eyeliner Review

I have wanted to try a gel liner for a really long time after hearing rave reviews about them. When my collection 2000 extreme 24 hour felt tip liner ran out (reviewed earlier) I decided what better timing! I decided to try out the Maybelline one first to see if I liked it rather than going for the more pricey options like Bobby Brown.

So far I have to say I really like this eyeliner! Its like painting your face its really fun and very easy to use.

Its a great pigmented colour which is very black. It slides on super easily and is long lasting. It is obviously a good thing that it is so long lasting, but one of its downfalls is that its quite difficult to get off, it literally won't budge! If you make an error (like I often do) it can be quite a pain trying to fix it, I usually use a cotton bud dipped in moisturiser and that does that trick.

Another thing that I'm not keen on is the brush. It was great to begin with but after a while it has gotten really dry and its hard to apply the liner with it now, so I would recommend washing it regularly to stop liner drying it up or buying a more expensive liner brush.

Overall a great product for the price and one I will definitely carry on using. It is the best eyeliner I have found for keeping a really strong colour all day and not budging or having to reapply. It is also really simple to use and a great product for beginners!

Heres some pictures of me wearing it...

Cher Lloyd 'want u back' lilac lipstick

Usually I am not a huge fan of Cher Lloyd.. but I have to say recently her new song 'want you back' has been my new guilty pleasure and I have literally had it on repeat! I watched the video a while ago and fell in love with her lilac lipstick. After doing some research I discovered the blog of her make up artist for the video Adam Burrell.. and he shared with everyone that he used Lime Crime Airborne Unicorn lipstick! Of course after all this hunting I had to purchase ;). I have wanted to try Lime Crime for quite a while so I thought this would be a good way of seeing what the brand was like!

I really like this colour on, I only use a small amount but it turns into this gorgeous pinky lilac colour that really brings out green eyes. So far I haven't found it to be drying either which is also a plus!

Jemma Kidd Light As Air Foundation Update

Hey lovelies!

Sorry for the lack of blogging I have started a new PR internship this week so things have been a bit hectic! But never fear I am getting my act together and will be doing regular posts :) (I have never been great with organisation).
I thought I’d start with an update of how I’m getting on with the jemma kidd foundation. I’ve been wearing it since Friday now and all day at work so I feel I can give it an in depth review.
So far I am really enjoying it! Although the name states it is “light as air” it provides really good coverage which I was really surprised at. It is quite a runny liquid substance, yet it turns into amazing coverage that blends fantastically.
It has also been good compared to other foundations at controlling my oil... usually throughout the day I will have to blot my skin. But I haven’t done it once so far with jemma kidd which is really unusual for me! The only shine I am left with is on my nose which is unfortunately unbeatable!
It is really lasting and doesn’t fade at all which is good.  I have been applying using a wet sponge (to stop the sponge absorbing all the foundation and to make it blend easier) and it has been working perfectly. You only need a small amount of the product to get good results.
So far it hasn’t broken me out at all either which is great because my skin is very sensitive and can get agitated easily.
The only thing I have to complain about is the packaging! It is in a squeezy bottle which is really messy and can be a little unhygienic so I make sure I clean the top regularly.
Overall a great foundation and definitely one I will be repurchasing! I have it in the shade 02 which has matched my skin really well.
Hope you guys enjoy.

I will be giving an in depth review shortly, but from what I have used on my hand so far it looks promising...

Highlighters!

I am a big fan of highlighters. I think they can do wonders for your face. They can give you a really nice healthy dewy glow, and can also bring visual prominence to your best features. Over the years I have collected quite a few, and I thought I would share with you my favourites and why :).

Ooh La Lift Benefit, Dior Amber Diamond, High Beam Benefit, That Gal Benefit, Hollywood Glo Benefit, YSL Touche Eclat

Dior Amber Diamond, That Gal Benefit, Ooh La Lift Benefit, Hollywood Glo Benefit, High Beam Benefit, YSL Touch Eclat

Dior Amber Diamond

The most recent one I have purchased is the Dior highlighter in Amber Diamond. I really love this highlighter and it is very famous in the blogging word! It is great because it is a subtle shimmery power. I like it being a powder because often with liquid highlighters I find they take off my foundation underneath and I end up with a shimmery white patch and streakiness! With this powder you never have to worry, it sweeps over your cheekbones gorgeously without removing anything- only adding a beautiful healthy glow! It is a palette of shimmery colours which is nice to get a brush and blend together, it turns out to be quite a browny pink shimmer that is great with a tanned face. But if you wanted to you could use the individual colours. I often use the lightest colour as an all over shade for my eyes.

That Gal Benefit

This is described as being more of a primer that you use underneath your foundation to add a healthy glow. My skin is pretty oily already so I prefer to just dab it on my cheekbones or under my eyebrows to draw attention to my features. It’s nice because it’s a matte colour with no shimmer so it’s just a very subtle light pink that gives you a shine.

Ooh La Lift Benefit

This highlighter is usually used under the eyes. It’s great for lightening dark bags but for me it does not provide enough coverage. It has absolutely no shimmer and it is quite similar to That Gal, apart from that it is a lot lighter pink shade. It definitely works to give a bright eye appeal- I usually use it under the eyes with concealer when I need some extra help! It also has a cooling sensation which is good to reduce puffiness.

Hollywood Glo Benefit

I love this highlighter and have used it for a long time! It is pretty much the liquid form of Dior Amber Diamond. It is absolutely gorgeous with a tan. It gives a beautiful golden pinky sheen. The only thing I would say would be to not get too excited with it as it can show up badly in photos-  so use sparingly! I have gone out many a time looking like a disco ball.

High Beam Benefit

This is another highlighter that I have owned for a really long time. I really like it and it is a light shimmery pink. I find sometimes with this one that it can take my foundation off underneath so be careful not to apply it too heavily handed.

YSL Touche Eclat

This highlighter is great for using under the eyes. It provides me with just enough coverage to hide my bags and I really like it. I lusted after this product for a really long time and finally gave in and haven’t looked back since! I would definitely recommend.

Hope you guys enjoy the review!!
